Training
The microscopic objects that fill our world are incredibly varied, beautiful, and unexpected. These particles can be read like a book. They tell stories of the world they inhabit, the forces that generated them, and the life experiences that resulted in there being present for out viewing. Mr. Crutcher has been teaching students how to use the light microscope for over thiry years. During that time he has been improving and expanding his technique and expertise in interpreting the images created by the microscope. All of the classes teach you how to use these techniques to probe the nature of the object on the stage. A critical part of this training is demonstrating that when looking though the microscope we see images of the particles, not the actual particle. By changing the configuration of the optical elements in the microscope the image will change. Observing how the image changes allows us to interpret the history and nature of the object.
No other single analytical instrument has even a tenth the analytical versatility of the light microscope. The variety of the classes taught through the Training Center is an indication of that versatility. The titles and attached descriptions of the classes hardly do justice to the power of the light microscope. You will have to see for yourself.
