Dispersion Staining, Oblique Illumination
F. E. Wright first noted the color effects that resulted when a particle was mounted in a
liquid with matching refractive index but a different dispersion curve. He documented both the
effects on the Becke' Line and also the effects on the particle when it was viewed with oblique
illumination. These observations were published in the Carnegie Institute Paper #158 in 1911.
